Publication Ethics

Radiology Essence Journal is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics, scientific integrity, transparency and responsible scholarly communication. Authors, reviewers, editors and the publisher are expected to uphold ethical standards throughout the publication process.

1. Originality

Authors must submit original work that has not been previously published.

A manuscript should not be submitted simultaneously to another journal.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submission does not contain substantial material copied from previously published work without appropriate acknowledgement.

2. Authorship

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made a meaningful contribution to the conception, research, analysis, interpretation or preparation of the manuscript.

All listed authors should:

• Approve the final manuscript
• Agree to its submission
• Accept responsibility for their contribution

Individuals who have not made a meaningful contribution should not be listed as authors.

3. Plagiarism

The journal does not accept plagiarism, including substantial copying of text, ideas, figures, tables or other material without appropriate attribution.

Manuscripts may be screened for plagiarism or substantial text similarity during editorial assessment.

Where significant plagiarism is identified, the manuscript may be rejected.

4. Fabrication and Falsification

Authors must not fabricate, manipulate or falsify research data, images, results or other scientific information.

Any manipulation of radiological, microscopic, laboratory or other scientific images that changes or misrepresents the findings is unacceptable.

5. Research Ethics

Research involving human participants must comply with applicable ethical standards and institutional requirements.

Research involving animals should comply with applicable institutional and national ethical requirements.

6. Patient Privacy and Confidentiality

Authors must protect the privacy and confidentiality of patients and research participants.

Personally identifiable information, photographs, medical records and identifiable imaging findings should not be published without appropriate consent.

7. Conflicts of Interest

Authors, reviewers and editors must disclose relationships or circumstances that could influence, or appear to influence, their judgment.

A conflict of interest does not necessarily prevent publication, but it should be disclosed transparently.

8. Funding Disclosure

Authors should disclose all sources of financial support for the research or manuscript.

If the research received no specific funding, authors should state this clearly.

9. Duplicate and Redundant Publication

The same research should not be substantially published in more than one journal without appropriate justification and disclosure.

Authors should inform the Editorial Office if substantial portions of the submitted work have appeared previously in another publication.

10. Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI

Authors may use appropriate artificial intelligence tools for language improvement, formatting, data organization or other legitimate purposes.

However, authors remain fully responsible for:

• Accuracy of the submitted content
• Originality
• References and citations
• Research integrity
• Ethical compliance

Artificial intelligence systems should not be listed as authors.

Where AI has made a substantial contribution to manuscript preparation or analysis, authors should disclose its use appropriately.

11. Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers should:

• Maintain confidentiality
• Provide objective and constructive comments
• Declare conflicts of interest
• Avoid using unpublished information for personal benefit
• Evaluate manuscripts based on scientific and scholarly merit

Reviewers must not share manuscripts with unauthorized individuals.

12. Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions should be based on the scientific quality, originality, relevance and ethical standards of the manuscript.

Editorial decisions should not be influenced by personal relationships, commercial interests, institutional pressure or financial considerations.

13. Editorial Team Submissions

Members of the Editorial Team may submit manuscripts to the journal.

However, they must not participate in the editorial decision or peer review of their own manuscript.

Such manuscripts will be assigned to an independent editor and will follow the same editorial and peer review standards as other submissions.

14. Corrections and Retractions

If a significant error is identified after publication, the journal may publish a correction or other appropriate editorial notice.

If an article is found to contain serious problems involving research misconduct, unreliable findings or major ethical violations, the journal may consider retraction.

The purpose of correction or retraction is to protect the integrity of the scientific record.

15. Complaints and Ethical Concerns

Authors, reviewers or readers may contact the Editorial Office regarding concerns about:

• Ethical approval
• Data integrity
• Publication practices

The Editorial Office will assess such concerns and may request supporting information from the relevant parties.

16. Commitment to Research Integrity

Radiology Essence Journal is committed to promoting responsible research, transparent reporting, ethical publication and respect for the scientific record.

The journal reserves the right to reject, withdraw or take appropriate editorial action regarding manuscripts that do not meet accepted standards of research and publication ethics.
